Guest Post by Missy Hinton

My friend Missy Hinton shares with us today the reason for her hope. She reminds us we can trust what God says simply because it is He Who said it. The Truth of God’s Word is not in any way altered by our circumstances or by what we are feeling. Thank you, Missy for your encouragement. -K.N

Is the day of one’s death really better than the day of one’s birth?
Is it really better to be in the house of mourning than in the house of feasting?
The Bible says that it is and that the living will lay it to his heart. And we hold these truths precious because they are just that…TRUTH.
Ecclesiastes 7:3
Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
Do I really trust the Lord with everything else in life as long as it doesn’t go against how I feel?
Some days I feel numb and not even a single tear can well up in the corner of my eye… and then other days, I fall asleep crying and wake up with tears still in my eyes, trying to navigate through the day and through the tears and an aching heart. I read the Bible and I Remember Hope, Heaven, Comfort and peace that passes all understanding. I remember that my eyes cannot see the invisible or the eternal, both of which I weigh the salvation of my soul upon death and my hope of seeing my God and my Sam again.
What is your affliction today?
I can tell you, even through tears, that God is faithful.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
