Hans spent most of his life right here at home in the house he grew up in. Of course he went places and did things around the state. He spent his first birthday in California while visiting his grandparents with his family. But other than that he never left the state of Alaska. He never “got his own place”; never had to struggle to make ends meet, make a mortgage payment or get turned down for a job. He never “left home” until the evening he went to his heavenly home.
From his father’s house to his Father’s House. From home to Home.
Jesus Comforts the Disciples
1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Our Eternal Dwelling
1For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
