Thoughts for a Young Man on His Last Night on Earth

Psalm 16:11

In my flesh shall I see God.
Job 19:26

“Take realizing views of heaven’s bliss; think what it will be to you. ‘Thine eyes shall see the King in His beauty.’ All earthly brightness fades and darkens as we gaze upon it, but here is a brightness which can never dim, a glory which can never fade-‘I shall see God.'”

Here is Spurgeon’s evening devotion for January 10th: C.H. Spurgeon, Evening, January 10 (Hans’ last evening on the earth.)

And the next day, beholding the King in His beauty, Hans was there!

  1. What a beautiful reality to have planted in our hearts and minds as we meet our Lord. It’s amazing how in the Christian’s death we can feel both a sadness and a great joy, for in truth, we never die. May you know God’s peace and joy in your loss.
