I look up, because that is the only place to look. Heaven is up there. Up is where my son is.
We follow Him, not because he spares us from heartache (because He hasn’t); not because of anything He gives us or does for us. We follow Him and love Him because He is Almighty God who loves us. He knows what He is doing and we trust Him.
In some cultures, the women wail when someone dies. But even wailing is inadequate. There are some things that cannot be halved by sharing them. Grief is one of those things.
When you know and believe who God is and what He says about Himself, you have a rock solid foundation on which to stand when the great sea billows of life crash over you. Knowing Him well is the best and only preparation for whatever life throws at us.
Death is but a temporary separation. Those who are gone before us, are waiting for us. Oh! It will be a happy meeting before the throne of the Lamb--out of the reach of sin and sorrow, to meet and part no more!
Our Father loves us and wants us to be in close fellowship with Him.
